Experience of an OLnet Expert Fellow

The first OLnet Expert Fellow, Yannis Dimitriadis, has finished his fellowship and returned to work at the University of Valladolid, Spain. He worked with Grainne Conole on the way in which patterns can feed into designs for OER. In particular an approach is being piloted that takes established patterns for collaborative group work and uses this to generate new activities based on OER. This approach has been used as the basis for a series of workshops to communicate and test the ideas.

Collaborative patterns and design for OER: new approaches to improve the design and reuse of resources

The workshop will introduce participants to a range of tools, methods and approaches to designing and evaluating Open Educational Resources (OERs). The session will explore how learning design and pedagogical pattern methodologies can be used to help with the more effective design and reuse of resources. Examples will be taken from existing free and open resources, such as the OERs in available in OpenLearn.
