With a higher education population of 25 million, China presents an unprecedented potential user base and unique opportunity for Open Educational Resource initiatives. In both the Research Project and Community Groups on OERs in China we aim to explore, investigate and discuss the following issues:

1. To explore ways to enhance quality and increase access in OER initiatives in China

• Are you new to the OER world but have a project in mind?
• Do you wish to start an OER institutional initiative?
• Are you an educator and wish to start using OER in your professional practice?
• Are you a policy-maker and wish to explore the potential of OER?
• Are you a researcher and wish to investigate a particular aspect of OER practice?
• Are you an OER expert and wish to support new comers into the OER world?

 The open source software movement has created a huge range of tools that can be used for the creation, remixing, consumption and promotion of Open Educational Resources. This group is for people interested in applying this technology to the OER challenge.
