Open Learning Network

OU staff Patrick McAndrew (IET, Director of OLnet), Simon Buckingham Shum (Senior lecturer KMI working on SocialLearn and OLnet), Karen Cropper (IET, Project and Liaison Manager OLnet) and Freda Wolfenden (FELS and TESSA) all attended The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation 2010 Grantees Meeting at Yale University on 8-10 April 2010.  At this meeting the Hewlett Foundation presented for the first time to a public audience their new funding strategy for the next 7 years.

The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation are supporting the development of this Open Learning Network – OLnet – over 3 years to the end of February 2012. The project aims to bring researchers and educators together in an intelligent social network to share knowledge on the development of Open Educational Resources (OER).

This is the OpenLearn site that supports the Open University's provision of Open Educational Resources. It has been in operation since October 2006 and offers access to a wide range of resources from the Open University and aso support a space where other people can provide their own content.
