OER Research Projects in China and India

With a higher education population of 25million and 13 million, respectively, China and India present an unprecedented potential user base and unique opportunity for Open Educational Resource initiatives. In both the Research Project and Community Groups on OERs in China and India we aim to explore, investigate and discuss the following issues:

1. To achieve a better understanding of the educational system and the role of OERs in China and India

2. To explore ways to enhance quality and increase access in OER initiatives in China and India

3. To build multi-lateral flows between OER projects on scholarship, content and effective practices for scaling educational opportunity and excellence

4. To enable current OER initiatives to meet their objectives by providing experience and know-how

5. To explore ways of making projects sustainable through the integration of OERs into the wider educational objectives and weaving OERs into the fundamental structure of the educational system
