The OLnet International Virtual Workshops aim to engage practitioners, researchers and policy-makers in discussing OER practices at various levels. The workshops are offered to cater for all: from the more experienced practitioner to the novice educator wishing to experiment with OER. The workshops also cater for both institutions which are contemplating the creation of an OER initiative and the ones which aim to share their experiences and evaluation practices.
Each OLnet virtual workshop hosts dedicated virtual spaces such as the 'Project Incubator" and the "Wall of Ideas". In these spaces participants both collaborate and support each other in the process of OER planning and implementation and share their creative ideas.
The virtual workshops are designed to engage participants in various ways, such as by means of talks, demos and synchronous and asynchronous activities facilitated by expert OER practitioners. OLnet virtual workshops also aim to widen participation in the OER world by promoting a series of workshops in different languages.
