New FREE UNU Book: ‘The Why and How of Open Education - With lessons from the openSE and openED Projects’

This UNU Book on ‘The Why and How of Open Education’ is an introduction to Open Education (OE), giving practical guidance on the design and delivery of OE courses while wrestling with theoretical considerations of this new and emerging domain. Educators are the main targets, but it will also be relevant to policy makers, senior education managers and the learning industry as a whole.

The openED course on “Business and Management Competencies in a Web 2.0 world” will start on April 26th 2011 in its 2nd edition!
 
openED is a FREE/OPEN course targeting business students and practitioners alike. The course consists of 10 modules allowing participants to choose the individual modules they are interested in. This is to say that you can either take all of the 10 modules, or just those ones that you are interested at.
 

openEd 2.0 course 2011 modules & ‘In-Class Support’ now available for Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

The first presentation of the openEd 2.0 course titled ‘Business and management competencies in a Web 2.0 world’ has now passed its half-way point. Students from countries across Europe and beyond have participated in the course activities with over 350 forum posts and 80 user-completed learning activities added during the first five weeks!

As you are aware, the OpenEd 2.0 course is Free and Open to anyone. This type of Freedom and Openness also allows partnering or third party institutions to provide further support services for this course, such as in-class support or individual assessment and certification.

We are glad to inform you that the University of Dar es Salaam Computing Centre is going to offer you in-class facilitation of all of the openEd 2.0 course module against a moderate fee – starting from today!!!

It took quite some efforts, and some things still need to be finalized, but we are glad to announce that the registrations are now open for our Free/Open Course on Business and Management Competencies in a Web 2.0 World, scheduled to start on November 1st. 

First lesson (re-)learnt on the openEd 2.0 course

Today I (re-)learned the first lesson on our coming openEd 2.0 course. And the 5+ hours it will take me to re-adapt the course structure in accordance is still ‘gentle’ – compared to the time this would have cost at a later point.
